Advantages of Aluminum Metal Stampings

Aluminum is an excellent resource and is widely used to create metal stampings and deep drawn metal stampings. The most common grades of Aluminum used to create Metal Stampings are:

1100 Aluminum - This alloy is known as Commercial Grade Aluminum and is a widely used alloy that has good machinability and offers excellent forming characteristics that allow for bending, spinning, stamping, drawing, roll forming and many other applications.

2024 Aluminum - This alloy is known for its high strength it is widely used for its excellent machinability making this alloy the optimal choice for aircraft and vehicle applications.

3003 Aluminum - The most widely used of all aluminum alloys. It has excellent corrosion resistance, workability, and it may be deep drawn or spun, welded or brazed.

5052 Aluminum - This alloy has good workability, medium static strength, high fatigue strength, good weldability, and very good corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments.

6061Aluminum - This alloy is known for its great formability, medium to high strength requirements, good toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance.

With our engineering staff and our source of Aluminum from only top tier suppliers, we can ensure your stamping project’s realization from start to finish. Our goal is to deliver our customers with products to optimize operational efficiency and quality.

Aluminum offers a variety of advantages making this material a top choice for industries needing aluminum metal stampings and stamped parts.

Our Stamping Capabilities

Our advanced facility gives us the following capabilities:

Tapped Terminals

Deltran has developed the perfect method for the production of terminals and other stampings with tapped or threaded holes in one operation. We can create these stampings efficiently without reducing quality. With our specialized stamping procedures, we can maintain higher standards and closer tolerances with ease. This also saves you money on your project by eliminating the costs of secondary tapping operations. The cost of threaded stampings and tapped terminals is nearly identical to the cost of the stamped component with Deltran. As a result, you receive higher quality and quicker turnaround while lower your overall costs.

The cost of tapped terminals and threaded stampings is about the same as the cost of Deltran's stamped components, so you receive higher quality and quicker turnaround with competitive pricing.

Solid & Composite Contacts

Deltran can create solid and composite contacts in all sizes and configurations with the exceptions of rivet types. We manufacture all contacts to meet strict performance requirements with a variety of metals and alloys as well as stripe, toplay, overlay and other composite materials. It is common practice to replace existing contact assemblies with a single part of composite material. This can eliminate the need for secondary assembly operations, increasing efficiency and lowering costs.

Contact Deltran today in regard to your contact assemblies, and we can provide a quote. If you send us prints or drawings of the project, we can provide a more accurate quote and answer any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What order volumes do you accept?

Tapping orders typically release a minimum of 25,000 pieces. However, we can provide a production size of 5,000 pieces or higher. We can produce various sizes as small as 1,000 on customer requests for regular stampings. We can also run production quantities into the millions.

What type and thickness of material do you stamp?

Contact our parent company, Wedge Products, Inc., for larger stampings with thicker materials.

Do you offer inventory programs?

Yes, we offer a variety of inventory programs including stocking solutions, J.I.T., Min-Max, Kan-Ban systems, etc.

What other value-added services do you offer?

Deltran offers a proprietary system for low-cost threading of stampings. We also offer automatic riveting of precious metal contacts as well as finish stamping with screws in tandem with tapping the stamping.

Do you offer additional services?

Deltran has immense experience in plating and heat-treating specs for the industry. We employ various plating companies to fulfill your plating requirements.
